BREAKING NEWS: AskJeeves Buys Bloglines

Issue 14, The Weekly Rundown

Well, it’s not that breaking because the rumor’s been around for a while, but since I’m one of the first few sources to cover it, and it hasbeen officially announced yet, hey.

Mary Hodder reports AskJeeves has been integrating Bloglines to its system vigourously, and on Monday, they’ll be announcing it officially and possibly integrating Bloglines to their search system with it.

So, if what she says is right, starting Monday, Mark Fletcher (founder of Bloglines) will be the newest Ask employee.

I think this is gonna make it interesting for Google, who have a zero relationship with RSS (at least Yahoo! and MSN have My Yahoo! and My MSN which supports a personal aggregator), an, on top of that, for some reason, Google is all ATOM-ATOM (one thing I don’t support.)
