Some have called the latest Google patent that’s been getting so much attention, the most important SEO document in years. Googleguy has commented in WebmasterWorld forums on efforts to better indentify quality factors for ranking sites. An interpretation of the Google paper suggests items of importance for site optimization/ranking in Google such as: when domain name was registered, how much time is left in the registration, how many people have bookmarked a site, the clickthrough performance of ads that show up on a site, rate of inbound links (too fast/too slow – too many/too few) and more.
Also, Rand of SEOmoz has done an excellent write topic by topic write up of the Google patent for all you folks that are into the granular details (like me).
Stuntdubl offers a list of SEO tools relative to the Google paper and implications for SEO that have been outlined previously.
