Yahoo! Wants To Get There First (Yeah Right, Like It Already Hasn?t)

You know what I and thousands of wannabe technology entrepeneurs, scientists, technologists, and programmers dream everyday? We dream to be there first. To form a new hype, just like Yahoo!, Microsoft and Google have. But you know what’s funny? Yahoo!, Microsoft and Google dream the same!

Well at least that’s what is reported in the CNET article, “Yahoo! focuses on research“. CNET reports Yahoo! plans to expand its research labs to “get ahead in the search race”.

Yahoo’s lab will be developed into a center for innovation with scientists from all over the world, the company said. The lab will tackle scientific problems in search and information navigation, personalization and mobility, Yahoo said. It also will work on designing algorithms to support new technologies.

“We will continue to build on that success globally as we focus on discovering new technologies to enhance our products and services that ultimately benefit our users,” Farzad Nazem, chief technology officer at Yahoo, said in a statement.

You know, it’s great to see such companies focusing on the future, but what I’d more like to see is the future focusing on these companies, already. What I mean is, if there is any development going on inside the labs, I [and a thousand other people, websites, companies] would love to know about it, but I guess the competition is so high that it prohibits cooperation within companies and individuals. Again, just a note to these companies — a “win/win” situation won’t hurt.
