Funny, just a few hours ago I blogged about Google’s My Search History which is the latest addition to the Google Labs and said it doesn’t have any serious competitors, and here we go, now it has one. How many times does that happen to you in your life? 😉
So as you may have guessed, My Web is exactly Yahoo!’s version of the Google Search History. It has the same functions — saves your queries and web pages and lets you access them from anywhere, but only it’s presented in a different manner. Instead of having a calendar like Google’s My Search History does, it has folders.
According to Yahoo!, My Web will be integrated into Yahoo! 360, which is great to hear, and speaking of 360, I was just listening to Chris Pirillo’s “web cast” with GoToMeeting (which by the way I thought was an interesting way to do web casts), and he was speaking about Yahoo! 360 and how great it is to have it all in one place. Well if a Yahoo! employee is currently reading this, I would like to suggest to him what Chris suggested in the web cast: it would be great to have Flickr integrated with Yahoo! instead of the current ‘picturing’ tool in 360. Just a quick note.
Anyway, personally having tried out both Yahoo!’s My Web and Google’s My Search History, I would personally prefer Google’s by the service and Yahoo!’s by the name. How about we call it Google My Web Beta? 😉
