Some people have asked what local means to me, and I say it only means something if it means something. To confuse you a little more, what I mean is, it means something to me if I’m in the trade business looking for companies who ship shrimp from area X. However, it doesn’t mean anything if I’m looking for web pages about a topic (of course it doesn’t, it isn’t supposed to!).
So bottom line is, local search comes in handy only some times — not all of the time. One area, which I never thought local search would touch, and I’m very glad to say Blogdigger did it just yesterday is obviously, blogs. I mean, why would someone need local search to find what people think about the new XBox 360, right? It doesn’t make sense. However, I just thought of this after the Blogdigger Local launch, if I were looking to see what someone thinks about a baseball game (this one of the Blogdigger examples too) in state A, as opposed to state B, Blogdigger Local is a way to go.
As I have said in the past, Blogdigger is a feed search engine which I truly support, and it’s great to see Greg and team find an area and fill it up. Cheers to the Blogdigger team!
