Marshall over at Marshall’s Web Tool Blog recently posted about Talkr, a service which lets you ‘talk’ or ‘podcast’ your blog posts. You know, I’ve always wanted to start a podcast, but have never had the gutts to — it’s like I’m missing the “radio jean”. No, seriously, I truly suck. I tried once, just recording an MP3 off of SoundForge and it was bad. Really bad (well, compared some of the existing podcasters at least, not all of them though).
Anyway, so what Talkr “sounded” like seemed perfect. Just needed to make sure I don’t have a super computer robot which says “m-i-c-r-o-p-h-o-n-e” instead of “microphone”. So following one of their instructions, I setup an example “talk” of my previous blog post about Google News launching RSS. Click here to listen to it — it’s only 250-something KB. In response, after listening to it — this thing rocks dude! Sounds almost real.
Anyway, so from now on wherever you see this:

It’s the “RSS” button for the blog your on’s podcast (well, spoken blog posts, at least). Copy their link and subscribe, hell, copy my link and subscribe! Well, at least I know I’m going to whenever I see these for a blog I somewhat admire (thus saving a lot of reading time) because let’s face it, we all like listening to podcasts more than we like reading blog posts, don’t you agree?.
Oh, and from now on, beneath every post, you’ll see this. Click on it to have a listen. Don’t click on it after you’ve read the damn thing, though
