The Magic of RSS and a Search Engine: The Return of 150 Posts

Wow, could you imagine, yesterday, this blog had 10 posts, today, about 150. How did I post 140 posts in one night, you might ask? I didn’t. All thanks to Greg Gershman from BlogDigger, BlogDigger itself, RSS, and the “import-rss” function in WordPress, I was able to bring back 140 posts dating back to about 8 months. How did I manage to do that?

Well, at first to be honest I didn’t think it was possible, but Greg pointed out this URL. This awesome URL.
http://www.blogdigger.com/search?q=site%3Arev2.org&sortby=date&type=rss&pp=1000

Yes, all the posts have been bought back from that URL (and a couple more, but that was the main one). I really also owe it to the WordPress guys for the import RSS function. I don’t know where I would be without it. So, two tips for all ye bloggers:

1) Backup your freakin’ data almost every day!!
2) If you happen to lose it, like I did, check your blogging software. If it doesn’t support the import RSS function, you’re screwed (that’s why Wordpress is the best!). If it does, go to Blogdigger.com, type in “site:yoursite.com” and view the XML feed for it. Change the pp= value to 1000000. Download the file. Then you’re on your own. It really depends on your blogging platform from here. If it’s WordPress, go to /wp-admin/import-rss.php and follow it. If not, search, search and search (or ask) Good luck!
