I don’t know how this happened but it went and it went for good. I didn’t blog about this because I think it was quite a small thing to blog about (a meta search engine for sale?) but of course, I am shocked and extremely happy for the folks at jux2. If you missed search, award-winning meta search engine jux2 was up for sale at eBay.
The bidding was at about $28,000 about three or four days ago, and I was talking to a search-engine-owning friend of mine (no it wasn’t Nathan). We were just discussing things and one thing we talked about is this eBay item. That friend said to me, "if this item goes for even a dollar more than $30k, I’m selling mine tomorrow". Wait till I inform him about this. He’ll be looking for his credit as he reads my e-mail!
Anyway, as I said above, jux2 was an award winning search engine. Which award? Not any award but indeed the SEW Awards, as the best meta search engine of 2004. I think it certainly deserved that, and of course it does indeed deserve this sale. But what’s more interesting about this sale is the bids history (it received 116 bids). Have a look and towards the bottom, eight up, who do you see? Heh….I won’t mention his name his because I don’t want to get in trouble for no reason.
On a last note, I would like to congratulate jux2 for their sale, and wish them the very best of luck for the future — whatever they do next.
