[...] I don’t know why but I seem to be posting a lot about my predictions lately. No particular reason for this, just that things are starting to come true. Anyway, one of my predictions for this year is that AOL will buy Technorati. However, Michael Arrington of TechCrunch thinks that it’ll be Yahoo! and some people believe so as well. Mike does have a good reason for his statement (read the post), however, I still believe it’ll be AOL. Here are my reasons: [...]

[...] As you know a few days ago I made some predictions for 2006 and it seems some of them are starting to come true already. There are some others, but for this post I’ll specifically focus on the Web 2.0 verdicts one (you know, the one where some companies will live, while the others die). [...]

[...] I don’t know what the hell I was thinking when I made these predictions for 2006 (or for that matter even John Battelle and all these people) because we totally missed out VoIP from our lists’. Imagine that, it’s been such a big thing this year, Skype, hundred million users, billion dollar acquisition and all, and none of us think it’ll make news in 2006. How stupid!
Danny,
I understand what you're saying and because I've beta tested Riya, I can see where it's going. But, in the end Riya is a photosharing/searching software and BubbleShare (however differently they may do it) the same as well. The 'verdict' I talked about above really was about who's approach works better: ease of use or advanced technology?

Scott,
Plently thanks for your comment. Your post is, really, something and I would've offered stock predictions (apart from the AOL I touched slightly above) but I'm actually quite alienated to it. Also, I know what you mean by "always enjoy" because so do I. I've been following a few A-list bloggers' predictions for the past two years and sometimes it almost feels like they edited the post as things happened and other times it's just like "what kind of a foolish person would predict that?". Interesting, in any case.

Interesting perspective. I always enjoy looking back at how the experts said the year would turn out, especially the stock market, and compare that to how the market actually did. Looking back shows me that when it comes to investing, my guess is as good as anyone else's. I blog about it at http://mymountain.blogspot.com/2005/12/prospering-in-new-year-who-can-we.html

thanks for including us (Riya). just want to mention that our focus is on auto-tagging photos using face recognition so that you can both search and share your photos easier.
