Google Pack is Out

bundle_sm.gif I don’t think I need to link to any news source on this one, just the details. Announced at CES (Larry Page’s excellent keynote [guest app. by Robin Williams]; do read Engadget’s excellent excellent coverage), Google Pack is a software package aimed for the average computer-naive consumer. It includes the following (you have the ability to customise it and add/remove what you want):

  • Google Earth
  • Picasa
  • Google Pack Screensavers’
  • Google Desktop
  • Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer
  • Mozilla Firefox with Google Toolbar
  • Norton AV 2005 with free 6 month subscription
  • Advare SE Professional
  • Adobe Acrobat 7
  • Trillian
  • Google Talk
  • GalleryPlayer HD Images
  • Google Video Player

Yes, if you’re still wondering, all this is free. Excellent move by Google (I tried it myself and it’s pretty cool), not too exciting for us techies but for the consumers, oh surely. But still though, I can’t wait for their $100 laptop. Yes, they’re making one (which presumably come with Pack installed). When Google, when?
