I have to admit that it’s a bit too early to do a review for BlogBurst since they’re still in the process of getting some of the deals setup, technically, to go live hopefully in spring of this year (US) but I think it’s too much of a decent product to be left to that.
So, BlogBurst is a niche product for bloggers which enables them to combine with traditional media — by this I mean newspapers or online newspaper sites (such as, for example WashingtonPost) — to spread their content across, get their message out, and be covered more widely. In this context, think of bloggers as columnists and BlogBurst as a tool which helps those columnists syndicate their, columns more widely — you get the idea. I think BlogBurst is filling a huge gap in the blogosphere and doing a great job of connecting traditional media (MSM) with the blogosphere and breaking what’s always been ‘the blogosphere vs. traditional media’.
One other thing that is worth mentioning is that BlogBurst is from the folks at Pluck, the aggregator (and a great one as well). I think it’s because of this that the usability, design and structure of it is quite seemless and transparent, which is why I suggest any blogger to try it out when they get the chance to. It has just the right features and doesn’t carry the usual useless jargon. Upon that, it’s ‘coming soon’ image in the reports section tells me that it might lightly be competing with FeedBurner soon.
BlogBurst to me seems a great product that has niche potential, or a so-called “killer app” for blogging (not that blogging is a great killer app itself). I’d really like to see it in action this spring, when I’ll be more free elaborate on whether its a success or a failure.
