Tagging Finally Crosses Web Search: Tagground

Tagground enables you to search the web by querying various social bookmarking engines. You can search for ‘tags by URL’ or ‘URLs by tags.’ As interesting as the idea sounds, I think it’s way too irrelevant for anyone to actually use it. Such a thing might work for blogs, but never for web search.

  • Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your comment. I do think every other aspect of Tagground -- except the main one [concept] -- is great. The reason I why I leave the concept out is because while it makes perfect sense on paper, for such a thing to work, the web will really have to take social bookmarking and tagging seriously, which I don't think it's prepared to do as of this stage.

In the future, maybe, but for now, blogs and those once in a while cool and weird links is the only place I see this working, even with every social bookmarking engine combined.

However, please keep motivated with Tagground as I do believe if the idea of social bookmarking is embraced more seriously, you could go places.
  • kevin here from monty lounge industries - the creator of tagground. thanks for your comments on the site.

I believe there is great potential behind concept and with a few upgrades to the web app, adding more and more social bookmarking engines for the app to query, and with the public continuing to embrace "tagging" I feel the site will become a great tool for users looking to find content relevent to their queries.
