Phanfare is a startup that launched in the fall of 2004 which enables the sharing of photos and videos, aimed specifically at families. Based in New Jersey, it’s managed to get rave reviews from the WSJ, PC Magazine and CNET and supports unlimited file storage, at about $300 for a lifetime membership or $7 a month. I tried out the trial and I’m fairly impressed by this, although I’m a bit reluctant on the business model — I would rather see ads than pay for something.
