Digg to Launch Own Digg Clones

Kevin Rose confirmed today that Digg will be wiring out into more verticals such as politics, world news, entertainment, etc or in other words create Digg clones of itself. But I'm not sure if this is such a good idea. Be it Memeorandum or Newsvine, what I've seen is that it's just us geeks who care about this social and community stuff (which is funny because social isn't a word I would describe geeks with ;-) ). What I think Digg will end up with in the end is not different users in different areas, but rather the same people who also care about other stuff, kind of like a venn-diagram.
