Another Web-Based IM That Rocks: KoolIM

In Web 2.0 'more' of something is usually a bad thing, but I think web-based-bring-em'-all-together IMs actually have it the exact opposite: they're doing what the companies behind the original IMs are too stupid to do themselves — to integrate with each other — and that's good. KoolIM launched today, just as a reminder competing against Meebo, Mabber and eBuddy, and I think they're a pretty close tie with Meebo. If they didn't open a popup, I think they would indeed be better — hats off to them for getting it right on the most part the first time.

    Funny,

Ebuddy, the biggest uses ADS :) Iloveim.com, the third biggest uses ADS, Messengerfx, a new comer uses ADS.

There is nothing wrong with using ADS, if the users like the service, they will come back, its that simple, google has ads, thats how they make all thier money, same with most other web properties :)

Of course...I'm not alone..but we always sign with our names...
And about ads...you are right,is too early...if you can,try to don't be the first one in using ads on your IM.

    Thanks for now,
    Duke.

we actually did a lot of research on ads, its not a bad option, everyone uses ads, at this time after our research, we ebelieve that ads is to early and not the best route for our user base at this time.

I'm not a fan of koolim.com. I've never used it for more than an hour because it just annoys the hell out of me... it's a very unimaginative application which just copied the basic function of meebo, applied its own uncreative user interface, and presented it as a new application. I wouldn't be surprised if koolim didn't make it big.

Lots of people ask my oppinion about who is the best in instant messaging.
    Here's my 2 cents:

    2. http://www.imunitive.com (alternatives- http://www.imunitive.co.uk )

    3. http://www.imhaha.com - supports QQ as a bonus-( alternatives- http://www.imhaha.net)

    4. http://www.e-buddy.com (alternatives -http://www.e-buddy.us)

    5. http://www.koolim.com (strong newcomer) -(alternatives-http://www.koolim.us)

    6. http://www.goowy.com - ( alternatives-http://www.goowy.us , http://www.goowy.info , http://www.goowy.biz)
    7. http://www.mabber.com ( alternatives-http://www.mabber.us )

    8. http://www.wablet.com ( really strong competitor for the first places-still in Alpha- ) - ( alternatives- http://www.wablet.us )

Why they just copy IMUNITVE's look and feel, without meaning e.g. copy imunitive GIM's menu bar without anything inside ?

please see http://www.imunitive.com or their userguide http://www.imunitive.com/gimuserguide.html
