Wired News Gets Bought (Again)

By admin    July 12th, 2006

Apparently CondeNast is buying WiredNews for $25 million from Lycos, which last bought it for $83 million in 1999. This doesn't include the almost-now-dead HotBot, Hotwired and Webmonkey which was a part of Wired when Lycos bought them. I think the price difference (83m -> 25m in 7 years) is a great example of how the web has changed.
