37signals, the company best known for Ruby on Rails , Basecamp and preaching the 'Getting Real' approach, recently took an investment from Jeff Bezos. Jeff Bezos, if you don't know, is the CEO, President and Chairman of Amazon. This blog post explores their decision in detail.
I think this is a very smart move by them, and just what they might've needed to reach to higher ground. If you've ever heard Jeff Bezos (Web 2.0 conference comes to mind) or Jason Fried [37signals] (Web 2.0 show comes to mind) speak, you'll know how similar their approach is.
In the end, I think 37signals may indeed turn out to be one of those companies we'll deal with later on but we just don't know it yet. They've got approach, they've got style, they've got revenue and now they have investment — what else do they need?
