Cashboard Launches, and Replaces Accountant
Launched in Alpha very recently is Cashboard, a service aimed at small businesses that plans to replace accountants through a 37signals-like interface and smart features.
How It Works
Cashboard can be used for four purposes: making estimates to track your performance, creating and sending invoices — including reminders and thank you’s, making timesheets for employees, and accounting the money that comes in. Additionally, Cashboard integrates tightly with Basecamp, mixing together the money aspect of itself and the project management aspect for basecamp. Currently, they offer 5 pricing plans — all include the same features but differ in the amount of projects you can have active.
Opinion
One of the things I find fascinating the whole idea of online project management — I think products like these are increasingly going to prove handy in the small business market. I tried out Cashboard, and I’m fairly impressed — if I owned a small business today I’m pretty sure Cashboard would be my accountant of choice.
