IMified, the automated instant messaging productivity service, announced today that is has acquired FeedCrier for an undisclosed sum. Feed Crier is an RSS delivery tool that allows users to have their favorite RSS feeds delivered by instant messaging.
IMified is a free service that gives users access to many everyday applications directly through Yahoo, MSN, Google or AOL messengers. The service connects messaging users with standard API’s through widgets. Feed Crier’s developers plan to slowly transition existing Feed Crier users into IMified users without interruptions in service. IMified users will have access to Feed Crier’s RSS feeds directly through the IMified interface.
I find it amazing that we’ve come to a point where startups are able to acquire other startups. Not only is this a good idea for the two — who are now able to use each other’s resources and merge users — it’s great for the industry as a whole where we’ll start to see more well-developed players rather than ‘another’ clones. Best of luck to both IMified and FeedCrier.
