All of us have been in the situation where you need to convert a file for someone else to be able to view it but cannot find software that is capable of making the conversion or find it boring to spend the next 15 minutes looking for one. Zamzar takes all this frustration and molds it into a simple, easy to use online converter. Zamzar allows its users to convert songs, videos, images and documents to different formats directly from the site.
How it Works
Zamzar’s homepage is where everything happens. To convert a file, users must upload their file (up to 100MB in size), choose a desired format for conversion, enter their email address, and click. Nothing else is required except for checking your email. Just about any file format you can think of is supported, and recently Zamzar has begun to support the conversion of YouTube videos.
You can also add a “convert it” button from the Zamzar site to your toolbar in Firefox and the when clicked Zamzar will convert files from all of your favorite websites.
Opinion
Zamzar is an excellent service and undoubtedly one of the most useful ones I’ve come across so far. The fact that they’ve made it so easy for users to convert things and use it in ‘troubled’ situations makes the service really handy.
