JamJunky Allows Musicians to Receive Feedback Online

JamJunky is an interesting new service which allows song writers to upload their music and to receive feedback from friends or random internet users. JamJunky is similar to other Web 2.0 social music networks, but has focused on artists who want to receive feedback on their music as they produce it.

How it Works
Signing up is quick and easy, and like all great sites, JamJunky does not ask you to confirm your email address. After uploading a song, artists can send the link directly to friends using a special link, or they can open it up to public comment. Artists can set copyright limitations and can upload lyrics for their song.

Opinion
I found myself browsing other people’s songs on this site for fun. I am no musician, but I still find this site really interesting. What a great way for musicians to really reach their audience and to receive feedback for their work. The site is very easy to use, and accessing artists is quick. One problem I see so far is that artists are only sorted alphabetically, so there will be quite a few more hits on groups/artists at the beginning of the alphabet. I am sure we will see this service evolve and grow. I could envision JamJunky working really well as an add-on to another Web 2.0 music site such as Jamendo.

  • That's interesting there will be a lot music lovers out there to join. Music makes them feel relax depending on the type of genres they like. I consider gospel as one of the relaxing genres I heard.
  • Thanks for the write up, Brandon.

This is just the first revision of JamJunky, there will be feature updates as we receive feedback from posts like this, and other users.

hey, if you're looking for ways to get your music online I just found out a way to get 5 songs uploaded to itunes for free. My brother works at Guitar center and they were doing this promotion for memorial day where you just go to http://www.tunecore.com/account/signup - set up a free account and then enter the code "Guitarcenter" when they ask for you to check out and you get the 5 songs for free. it was supposed to be a memorial day celebration, but the offer doesn't expire for like 2 years TuneCore is supposed to be good for getting your music up in online stores, its worth checking out.
