How it Works
Nymbler requires no registration to begin and you can get started naming the baby right away! You start by choosing up to six names that you really like and then Nymbler suggests other names based on the names you chose. You can store your favorite names and print or email them.
The results are based off of the studies of Laura Wattenberg. She studies the unique aspects of each name including history, popularity, and ethnic, religious and literary associations. She is the best selling author of a baby naming book called The Baby Name Wizard.
Opinion
Nymbler does give some interesting results. After entering my name (Brandon), Nymbler returned the names Stetson, Stafford, Bayard and Dobbin among others. This could be useful for the parents who are stuck on a set of names and cannot think of more creative names. This world has enough Johns, why not add a Dobbin. Nymbler is very specialized, and the developers did a great job keeping the site simple. This service could be applied to dogs and cats as well if it were tweaked just a bit.
