Barcelona based Sclipo is a new video sharing site that is currently in beta which lets you share your skills with everyone on the internet. The site is focused on providing how-to’s, tutorials, advice, and tips and tricks videos.
How it Works
Anyone can add videos to Sclipo. Other users can rate, comment, share and promote your skill videos. There are many categories of videos already full of videos. Similar to youtube, you can sort videos by rating, views, comments etc.. Some of the categories include music, sports, design & animation, and languages. I found lots of the videos really interesting, especially the guitar and music videos.
sclipo: Live
Sclipo has expanded beyond simple video uploading/sharing and now supports live online classes. This service has some serious potential. The developers have provided some examples of uses for this service including allowing live guitar lessons, yoga lessons, and singing lessons. An instructor can teach one, or numerous students at a time, and instructors can charge for classes. These instructors (“Masters” on the site) are given ratings based on feedback, and new users can search through profiles to find an instructor that fits their needs. I see myself visiting this site often in the future.
