Me.dium Pulls $15 Million in Funding

By Brandon West    June 11th, 2007

Boulder, Colorado based Me.dium, the sidebar social network, has received $15 million in second round funding. The round of funding was led by Commonwealth Capital Ventures.

Prior to this large round of funding, investment in Me.dium had only totaled $5 million. Me.dium is still in beta testing phase, so we have to wait and see how the general public will accept this technology and its privacy implications.

For those of you who haven’t tried out Me.dium yet, Me.dium provides a browser plug-in that lets you see others who are currently viewing the same webpage as you. As of now, the plug-in is only available for Firefox, but expect it to be IE ready fairly soon. Me.dium was selected by the editors of CNET as a finalist for the Webware 100 awards last month, with winners to be announced June 18.
