Investing in the stock market may be for the financially-equipped, mutual funds for the forward-thinkers and venture capital for the future billionaires, but one thing that’s for everybody, with little startup cost and no limit as to the returns, is the real estate market — peak out your Window! A new and interesting service that caters to this is The Flipping Pad, which promises to be the ultimate hangout for wannabe and expert real estate investors.
The Flipping Pad is basically a fully featured discussion and hangout ‘place’ for real estate investors from all around the world. In social networking style, members join and are given with a profile. The Flipping Pad contains three general elements to the site: tracking news relating to the industry, letting users create and participate in ‘pads,’ and a discussion forum for the general conversations and discussions.
The site’s main premise, as mentioned above, is the concept of ‘pads’ — which is basically an offer or a suggestion to a property. A typical pad consists of a photo, description, statistics, category. Other members can also rate and comment on them.
Opinion
The Flipping Pad is an interesting idea and undoubtedly caters to a very niche audience. While I’m unsure whether it’ll be able to get an active community behind it using it for its purpose (rather than a form of ‘advertising’ for their property), it does bring about an interesting concept of communities on the web. Of course, well-made would be a light way to put it on the technical side.
