Seattle, Washington based Zoodango is a brand new social network that caters to the “hip urban professionals” of the world.
Zoodango lets professionals meet up online and encourages networking and real world meet-ups. Zoodango lets you find events in your area, and organizes the site into categories of different professions. Also, users can create events and invite friends and other users to the events. Your Zoodango profile on the site can include basic information like name and location, and it can also include more exciting features like pictures, your blog, and your favorite venues.
The Zoodango crew has created functionality that revolves around a younger more internet saavy audience. They have taken the correct marketing position, and have targeted students and recent graduates. After browsing through some of the site’s press releases, I noticed that the founder, James Sun, was featured on season six of The Apprentice for those of you who enjoy that sort of thing.
I think this is a really workable idea. This is a niche market in which I have yet to find an intriguing model and design. I like the site, it is simple and well designed. Many of the profiles look like model profiles now, but a good number of people have already joined. This could end up being a great way to connect online in the already tight knit professional world.
