First, the color scheme has changed in a pretty significant way. a darker blue now contrasts the typical Google blue we are all used to. The documents have new icons, and the buttons on the toolbar above the documents are larger and easier to see. Also, a new sidebar has been added with folders. For those of you using tags, your tags have been converted into folders, and files can remain in more than one just like with tags. Also, shared files are separated which is nice for those of us who use the collaboration features of Google Docs.
The invitation system has also been simplified, allowing you to invite others to collaborate on files easier. Also, for those of you who haven’t used Google Docs in a while, charts are supported as well. I really like the new search functionality Google has added as well. Now the search results are shown as you type enabling quicker access to documents.
Two thumbs up. I really like the changes, and I see myself using Google Docs more now. I like folders more than tags, so for me, this is a really great new set of features. The aesthetic changes are really nice too.
