awww man i thought it said unlimited IM lol. But I gotta hand it to them this app is worth the time their developers spent making it. Though it seems a little bit like MyBlogLog. But I don't know which site came first so I cant judge.

Developers have expressed a lot of frustration with Apple's decision to limit application development to "Web 2.0 Standards" (whatever that means). This is an understandable complaint -- web applications have a lot of constraints that "normal" applications simply don't have (access to core OS facilities, etc).

In light of this, it's great to see companies such as Meebo embracing these constraints and getting their products out there anyway. In doing so, they demonstrate the ability to innovate and they create a niche for themselves at the same time.

This product fills a gaping hole in the iPhone: there's no native IM client. If Apple had built an IM client in to the phone, the opportunities for companies such as Meebo to step up and greet a new market would be much slimmer. Instead of being frustrated by the constraints placed on application development on the iPhone, perhaps developers ought to celebrate them: where there are limitations, there is opportunity.

Wow, this makes me want to get an iPhone real bad. Not because of Meebo exactly, but because so much is happening! But I didn't find a link to the iPhone version... or perhaps that managed by the CSS and an iPhone-optimized version automatically loads if you're viewing from the device? I'm impressed it can do Gtalk (should I be?).

Haha, pretty soon you're going to see little tiny fan attachments by the name of 'iCool' that keep your iPhone cooled up for apps like Meebo. If not, I'm going to make one. ;-)

it works...but not too good. My iphone started to slow down and each key stroke looked like it was in slow motion. I could swear that the back of the iphone was heating up too!!
