Some great hobbyist projects have emerged in the past few months. One that recently came under our radar is Collectica, which is a community and marketplace for collectors to display their collections, meet new collectors, and trade.
Whether you collect video games, toys, or watches, Collectica has something for everybody. The main site consists of four sections: community, market place, news/events, and forums. The community section puts on display collections from members, clubs, and even VIP/celebrities/museums/libraries. The marketplace, which is their newly launched section, features a whole eBay-like section where like-minded collectors can buy and sell and as an added ‘twist,’ get to know each other and share their enthusiasm along the way.
A completely free service, Collectica promises to be the complete places for collectors to hangout, meet each other, and share information, collections, and ideas. While the community is still in its young stages, it already features a great amount of content and collections to look through.
