I think, since the launch of new style by face book, things have started becoming complex. Though it has provided more facilities but still usability is challenged somewhere. However despite of everything I think still face book covers a larger region for social networking. There is so much to do and even enhancing, this is because of the developer margin they have given to develop your own applications and launch. Everybody wants to be on face book.

Facebook and other social media platforms - I am not so sure because users can either put it to good use or bad use depending on the social attitudes of the users.

Agreed, in tune with users' needs and changing social network landscape will keep Facebook or any new startups alive and kicking.
