Spotify Radio has finally added the thumbs up and down feature to the desktop iteration of the app. This allows stations that you’ve been tuning into on your mobile devices to be synched with your desktop as well, finally closing the gap on synchronization between Spotify on all platforms.
The thumbs up/down feature allows you to “like” or “dislike” songs as they appear in your stations. Your up/down votes will now work across all platforms, so songs you disliked on your desktop will not appear again when you Spotify through your mobile.
This is one of the most-needed features for the app’s usability to be seamless across devices. Those who use Spotify only on their desktop, notebook, or phone would not notice this, but most users connect to Spotify through more than one device, making this synchronization a must-have feature.
According to TheNextWeb, “The thumbs up/down feature helps you personalize your stations over time, if you don’t like a track you can tell it so. With this feature now on both desktop and mobile devices, songs you give the thumbs up treatment to will show up across all your devices.”
Spotify users should all be seeing this update in their desktop app now, as it rolled out over the weekend. The update applies to both Mac and Windows clients.
