Social networking has progressively fostered communities among people even from very different backgrounds. To a point, this market has become a bit overcrowded. But now, a social networking platform dubbed Grou.ps has launched a new app that will tighten family ties.
Branded as Babyzilla, the new mobile app will permit families to keep in touch with each other privately via chat, share videos and photos as well as regularly post updates. Grou.ps created the app not only to allow the users to forge their own private networks but also to provide an avenue where they can openly communicate with their families.
Grou.ps is a Ning competitor that has been continually booming, with 400,000 supported communities at present. Recently it unveiled “Lovebucks”, a new subscription-based monetisation platform designed for online publishers that manages micropayments for websites. Lovebucks has now garnered over 200 publishers.
Meanwhile, Babyzilla also offers support for email and push notifications and will shortly support SMS notifications for feature phone users. It will also feature tools to download all your photos, which will include the option to order printed items as well as real-time chat and updates at year-end.
However, Babyzilla is not free. The app will be available as a $9.95 (£6.16) per year subscription service, but if you use the coupon code LAUNCH1000, it will allow you to take 40 per cent off through the end of the month.
The app is available on either iOS or Android and downloading the app itself is free.
