Google’s new app connects mobiles to TV sets

Got 60 seconds to spare? Try creating a mini-website with a free iPhone app called Zapd. In mere minutes, you can create a mini social site where you can post photos, text, and links

With Zapd, users can make their own well-designed and themed mobile mini sites, dubbed “Zaps”. The app has over 50 themes to choose from, several of which have grid layouts that adjust automatically depending on whether they are viewed on a mobile device or a computer. Three posting options are also available: links, texts, and photos.

Photos can be pulled directly from your iPhone’s camera roll or you can utilise the app itself to take pictures. You can do some quick editing if necessary and then your photo is ready to be uploaded onto your Zap.

After setting up your account, you can use it as a way to preserve memories. Users can choose to send a link to a Facebook or Twitter account and email the URL to others.

With its new version, it is now easier to create and share sites with others. Unlike the old version, the freshly released version has included a news feed that enables users to find sites created by others as well as collaborate among friends.

Users are only able to create Zaps on smartphones using the app but they can be viewed on any device that has an internet connection. A Zapd app for Android is under consideration but for now it is only available for the iPhone through the App store.
